Established in 1998 by Derek Booker and Joyce Anderson, we were the first tourist attraction to venture from sailing up and down the River Lagan into Belfast Harbour with the Titanic Story and since then, the interest from people all over the world has been phenomenal. Our regisitered trademark sums up the Titanic story as we see it ‘she was alright when she left here®’!
Over the years we have observed, listened and photographed the many changes to Belfast Harbour, namely the gradual move from industrial shipbuilding architecture of Harland & Wolff to the newly founded Titanic Quarter. It was during the period of demolition, 12 years ago that we saved an important collection of ships plans and drawings from being burned. As a result we formed the Charity, Lagan Legacy which now operates the Belfast Barge, located further up the river at Lanyon Quay, close to the Waterfront Hall. On board the Belfast Barge, the permanent Exhibition is named ‘The Greatest Story Never Told’ details the shipbuilding trades, by photographs, plans, oral histories and artifacts that went into building these great vessels such as the Titanic. Admission to this Exhibtion is free (donations welcome)!
